Almost more exciting that Easter itself is the preparation. Andrew and Claire couldn't wait to dye Easter eggs this year. They had grand plans to do elaborate designs and fancy coloring with the dye, but when we actually started it all went out the window. It is all about speed!

They started with coloring some designs with crayons and then chose their color for the dye.

Andrew watched Danny do two color egg and he did one himself.

After a while they didn't like using the wire ring to put the eggs in the dye. Aren't fingers just easier? Their hands were multi-colored when we finished which they thought was cool.

In all they did 37 eggs. Here are the finished products:

I then took some of the finished eggs and tried a Martha Stewart marbleizing technique. It worked well, but took a bit a patience and time of which I had very little. Plus the crayon drawings don't really go with the look.
