I made these pennant flags copied after ones that are shown in the movie Tangled. In preparation for this party I made a lot of trips to Michaels. I kept going to use coupons so that I didn't end up spending too much money on supplies, but I probably ended up spending more on gas!
Our first activity was painting. When Rapunzel was locked in the tower she did art projects to keep herself busy. I cut shapes out with my Cricut machine from Post it note paper. Then I had the kids stick the shapes on their own canvas.
Then they took paint and painted over the shaped as well as the rest of the canvas.
Then we peeled the stickers off to reveal a work of art. Here is Claire modeling with her painting.
Then I handed out bags for the next activity. They each got to pick their favorite color.
We hid about 100 pictures of chameleons (Rapunzel's pet in the movie) in the backyard. I told the kids that we were going on a chameleon hunt. Wow, they were excited!
Elaina and Ava running to find them.
Claire found one! I probably should have hid more, but I thought that 100 would be enough for each of the kids to have about 10. They loved this activity.
Then we came inside for some games. First up was a game of pass the chameleon - played like hot potato.
They weren't too into this game at first, because they didn't want to get out.
But soon, I told them that they were trying to catch the chameleon and they liked that better.
Then we had a snack of blue jello and orange "boats". There is a scene in the movie where she is in a boat, hence the snack idea. This one was also found on the internet. I wish I was that creative!
Then I tried a game that they really didn't like. They had to try to sit on balloons to pop them. They didn't want to pop the balloons, they wanted to keep them.
Time for cake! Well, cupcakes. I made cupcakes with these cute flower paper cups. I thought about trying to make a tower cake, but I knew I wouldn't have enough time to do it right.
Claire blowing out her cupcake.

And finally opening presents. All of the kids were huddled close to see the presents.
Everyone we invited to the party came, so there were 10 kids including Claire. It was a lot of fun and Claire was so happy the whole day. She got lots of fun Rapunzel toys and books. Many thanks to my friend Britney for taking most of these pictures since I wasn't doing to well at running the party and taking pictures at the same time.
