The Mt. Timpanogos hike

I've wanted to do the Mt. Timpanogos hike for a long time.  I found out that you had to order tickets ahead of time, so Natalie, Lisa and I all got tickets.  We left Grant, Kenzie and Mateo with grandma. The hike is about 3.5 miles and is a gain of just over 1,000 feet.  It was steep and seemingly never ending.  The kids were actually troopers but we were all tired by the time we got to the top.  The ticket you purchase is for entry into the cave for a specific time so you can't take forever to get to the top.  We also learned that the cave is actually several caves together.

The girls taking a rest.

The views in American Fork canyon were great.

Claire was having a sock issue so Elaina traded her socks.  Claire should have worn better shoes.

It was shady at the top and we had some time to have a snack and take a break

The cave tour was really cool, we saw a lot of different types of formations and the tour guide gave great explanations of the history and geology of the cave.  At one point they turned off all of the lights and it was crazy to realize how dark it was.

We made it out the the other side!

By this time it was hot, but at least it was all down hill!

Although it was hard, it was a really great experience and we were glad we didn't take the little kids.
