The Rodeo

The kids played all afternoon after the pictures.  They set up camp in one of the closets and were playing school.

That night my mom, Dorothy, Ryan and Isabel went to see a play and we thought it would be fun to go to the rodeo.  Well, it was a pretty small town rodeo.  We sat on these bleachers which were on the verge of falling apart.  We thought it might be a little cold, but we were all freezing by the end.

They had fun getting up close to where the riders were warming up.

They had a contest for the kids where they could go and chase a calf with a bow on its tail and win a prize.  Taylor, Chris, MacKenzie and Grant wanted to do it.  Mia and Claire would not go in the ring.

Off they went!  None of our kids won.  Grant is near the back in jeans and a navy sweatshirt.

Then they did the big kids and Andrew and Landon decided to try.

Andrew is on the far right in a short sleeved navy shirt (which he ripped jumping into the ring).  They didn't win either but they loved it.

Then home for dessert and bed.  The kids probably had a better time than the adults, but at least we got to experience a rodeo for the first time.

This was the big pile of shoes that was present at the front door all week.
