Pinecrest Camping Trip

Our kids love to go camping. Last year, I accidentally made the reservations for the week that Andrew started Kindergarten so we had to cancel. After our quick trip in April the kids could not wait to get camping and get dirty. We went last week with lots of friends as well as Natalie and her family and my mom. As always, it was a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful.

Andrew thoroughly enjoyed riding his bike all around the campgrounds with his friend Abby. He loves the fact that he can finally ride a bike.

Our friend Preston makes a rope bridge every year that all of the kids love. Claire was really excited to try it this year (with help). Even kids that didn't come with us like to come and try the bridge.
Probably the most fun part about camping is hanging out down at the lake. The kids play for hours with sand and water toys. Uncle Todd got Andrew these water blasters for his birthday. They were fun when the kids were shooting each other, but not so much when they shot an adult.

Pete, Elaina, Danny and Claire were out in the water floating around for quite a while. Natalie's kids would have stayed out there for hours if you let them.

The perennial favorite item is Preston's boat. This boat gets tons of activity. Danny took Claire and Andrew out for a spin and they didn't want to come back. This boat must have magical powers because no one ever wants to get out of it.

Danny and Claire playing the water. Claire loves to sit by the water's edge and fill buckets with sand and dump them out. Yes, there were some pictures of me in my maternity suit, but those won't be posted - yikes!

My mom brought colored hair spray for the kids, so that is why Andrew's hair is strange looking. We split making dinner with our friends Preston and Tory, plus they brought up all of the food, so that was great! They were also able to bring her parent's RV which they let me sleep in. I had worried for weeks about sleeping on the ground (mostly about not being able to get up) and having to use the restroom at night. The RV solved those problems. It is so much fun to get away from everything and just hang out with friends and family. We came back on Saturday and Andrew started school on Monday, so it has been a busy couple of weeks for us.

I'm sure the trip would have been better if I'd been there ;) Glad you guys had fun.
