We headed down to southern California this past weekend for Mackenzie's blessing. On Saturday morning my brothers participated in a sprint triathlon just north of San Diego. We planned to meet them at the beach in Malibu in the afternoon. The weather couldn't have been nicer and 8 of the 9 cousins had a great time playing together - Mackenzie isn't too into sand yet.

Elaina and Claire digging the sand. They would bring water up from the ocean and dump it in a hole over and over.

Claire, Taylor, Landon, Isabel and Elaina playing. I believe they were making some type of sand soup.

Andrew and Landon really wanted to be buried in the sand. They had fun until Chris decided to "help" put sand on to of them by throwing sand in their eyes.

Natalie, mom, Chris, Claire and Elaina in the water. They really enjoyed splashing and playing in the surf.

Chris and Taylor "playing" together with the beach ball.

Danny and (sort of) Claire making a sand castle.

Landon, Isabel, Andrew, Claire, Elaina, and Chris. I think this was taken before Taylor arrived - sorry!

Claire was totally into playing in the water. She wasn't like that last summer. She spent a lot of time running in and out of the surf. We didn't leave until 5:30 or so and the weather was still nice. This is a nice change from the beaches up here. We went to dinner with everyone afterwards and even enjoyed some nice 8:00 pm LA traffic on the way back.
