For the Fall Festival at church they were having a contest for the desserts and I decided that I wanted to win. So I went on the internet and found a really cute, yet easy, Halloween dessert idea. These are brownies on the bottom topped with a large marshmallow and then drizzled with some melted frosting to make them into ghosts.
I also reused the spider web cupcake idea from Grant's birthday part. Guess, what I won!
There were lots of fun booths for the kids. The favorite every year is the donut on a string.
Someone had stilts for the kids to try. They had them in several sizes. Claire really wanted to keep doing this and we even went back to it later.
In this game the kids had to try to pull up the bottle with a ring on a string. It is harder than it looks!
For this game the kids had to knock over the pumpkins with tennis balls. It was fun having the festival outside this year. I didn't get pictures of everything or many pictures of Andrew. This is one of the kid's favorite activities every year.
The day before Halloween we decided to carve the pumpkins. Grant actually helped this year. All of our tools are in storage so we had to improvise this year with what we had.
Note the Spiderman decorations that are still up a month later. Grant kept freaking out when we tried to take them down. We finally did after Halloween.
This was Andrew's pumpkin. He drew the face and cut most of it out himself.
This was Claire's pumpkin.
And Grant's little pumpkin.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate this year and the school had to cancel the Halloween parade. It was pouring rain most of the day. I am not sure what they are doing in this picture, but I tried to get them to pose before trick or treating. Claire was Elsa from Frozen wearing the costume my mom made for her birthday. Andrew was a guy from Men in Black and Grant was, of course, Spiderman.
This year we went trick or treating with their friends Julia and Everett. We were able to go to their house afterwards for hot chocolate and cake. We were just happy that the rain stopped so that we could go out.
