For Claire's birthday we let her pick from a list of restaurants for her birthday dinner. She picked the Cheesecake Factory - yipee! We, of course, got cheesecake for dessert and Claire picked the S'mores flavor. The waiters came and sang to her and they had decorated her plate. She was so excited for it to be her special day.
My mom came with us to dinner and had a present for Claire back at her house. I had asked my mom to make an Elsa dress from the movie Frozen. You cannot buy a dress in the stores as they are permanently sold out (at lease for a few months). The dress was amazing and Claire was so surprised. We were able to keep the dress a surprise for weeks. She had to try it on right away. This was surprise #1 for her 7th birthday.
She tried it on right away and it fit great. The fabric on the front is beautiful and she sewed crystals on the bottom edge of the bodice. My mom was able to modify a dress from a pattern that she found at the fabric store. I gave her a picture of the dress from the movie and she was able to make the dress from that.
The cape is made with a beautiful blue ombre fabric.
Then we went home and opened some more presents.
She got an American Girl food cart from Grandma Kiehn. Grant and Andrew were also thrilled with this gift. They spent a bunch of time putting it all together and didn't want to go to bed.
We got her some doll clothes including this super cute matching umbrella and rain jacket. We also got cupcakes for her class. She was very specific that I had to get two packs of chocolate and one package of vanilla. Overall she had a great birthday, and little did she know that we had more surprises in store!
