All of the Kindergarten classes at Claire's school have a completion ceremony. They don't call it a graduation. I thought that they would just call each of the kids up and give each of them something. It turned out that they split up the classes into two different times and the kids performed several songs that they had learned throughout the year. The amazing part was that they also taught them sign language to go along with the songs. It was so neat to see all of the kids singing and doing the sign language together. They were so excited to be performing for their parents. I took video of each of the songs so I wasn't able to get a picture of her doing sign language.
After the songs, the teachers from each class called the kids up one by one and gave them a lei and a poem. She really wanted to wear a dress and to have me curl her hair for the occasion. When I asked her later why she didn't tell me about the songs she said it was a surprise.
Then we went out the playground for punch and cookies and lots of pictures. Claire with Ashley, Briana and Aileen.
Claire with her teacher Mrs. Kim. We loved having Mrs. Kim this year. We were a little worried because she was pregnant at the beginning of the year and we found out that we would have a sub for part of the year. Mrs. Kim really helped Claire find her love of reading. She kept telling me how helpful Claire was in the classroom.
This is Claire with Mrs. Sanborn. She was the substitute teacher while Mrs. Kim was out and she ended up coming back and teaching on Fridays for Mrs. Kim. She was wonderful and so, so sweet with the kids.
Claire and I after the ceremony. Danny wasn't able to make it due to some meetings at work. Apparently there was something on the camera lens.
One of the last line ups for Claire and her class.
I told Claire that next year she would get a new teacher and probably have different kids in her class next year. She wasn't very excited about that, but she is excited to be in first grade next year.

Yay Claire!
This is a much better set up in the cafeteria. The year Max graduated kinder, they had it in a classroom, with every class and ALL the parents. Needless to say, there was a LOT of complaining!
