For Andrew's birthday this year we decided to take him and a few friends to the movies to see Epic. Having six 8-9 year olds together is quite loud and a bit wild. They all had a good time, but while we were trying to keep them all together I forgot to take any pictures. It was definitely low key and didn't take a lot of planning which was nice since May was really busy for us. One of our friends works for a bank that sponsors an event sort of like a big company picnic - it just happens to be at AT&T Park. We were able to get tickets for Danny and Andrew so we surprised Andrew for his birthday. It was a great day full of fun things to do. Everyone was able to go down on the grass and in the dugouts.
They went out to center field to check out the view from there.
Andrew had never been on the Coke bottle slide so he did that without having to wait in line like you would have to do during a game.
A view of the Bay Bridge from center field.
He got a picture with Lou Seal, the Giants mascot.
A view looking straight up the right field foul pole from Levi's Landing.

McCovey cove - where balls often get hit into the water.
The Giants batting cages under the stadium.
Andrew playing shortstop.
As balls were hit Andrew tried to field them.
The best part of the day was that you could sign up to hit from home plate. Each person got five pitches. Andrew is waiting his turn.
Here he is in his major league ballpark debut!
They also put your name on the Jumbotron. Andrew's name was on the screen while Danny was hitting, so he didn't get a picture of that.
Next, they took a tour of the stadium including the visitor's club house, press box, awards, and memorabilia. Here is a picture from the visitor's clubhouse.
These are signatures from the visitors club house from Candlestick. The ones circled in white are from the Giants and Dodgers from the last year at Candlestick.
The visitor's club house laundry room. The visiting teams send their dirty uniforms ahead and the Giant's clubhouse manager does their laundry.
That night Andrew got to pick what to have for dinner at my parent's house.
There is always lots of help blowing out candles and opening presents.
I was also able to get some Giants tickets from a friend, so that same week Andrew and Danny went to a day game. They went early to see batting practice and warm up. Here is a picture Andrew took of Matt Cain.
Barry Zito.
Dave Righetti - the pitching coach.
A picture of Andrew from the seats.
It was a Giants filled birthday of fun for Andrew this year!

I don't even like baseball and I want to go on that Giants tour! I had no idea there was a slide in the Coke bottle. Can't believe he is already 9!
Whoa!!!! This is so fun!
