Easter fun

This year Easter came really fast.  We didn't even manage to get decorations up, but we did make time for our Easter tradition of coloring eggs, but first we went to an egg hunt at the pool.  Our friend Sara invited us and it was great because the areas were separated by age.  Grant was really into finding eggs this year.

He also quickly realized that the eggs had candy inside.  Once he got the candy out of the eggs, he quickly got to eating it.

Claire and Andrew saw several friends from school there.

Grant has not had the chance to dye eggs before.  We have always done it when he is napping (on purpose!).  But this year he must of know something was going on and he refused to take a nap.  Grant's method of decorating eggs consisted of dropping as many eggs as possible into all of the colors as fast as possible.  Then he wanted to take them out about 10 seconds later.  He even managed to crack a few of the eggs because he just dropped them in.

Andrew wanted to spend some time on his eggs and did several with multiple colors on them.

Claire wanted most of her eggs to be pink or purple.

We kept telling them to leave them in the color longer so that they would be darker colors.  It was more about the quantity of the eggs rather than the quality.

Andrew was up first on Easter morning and then Grant.  They were having a really hard time waiting until Claire woke up to look for eggs.  Finally the hunt got started.

When the inside was empty they headed outside.

Grant ended up with the most eggs by far.  Andrew and Claire kept thinking that he wasn't getting any eggs and they were giving him some of theirs.

After church, I tried, as I have every year, to get a decent picture of all three of them.  Grant wasn't having it though.  Maybe one of these years we will get a good shot.

Yeah Grant gets to dye eggs! I can totally see him just dropping them in the dye. The kids looked great on Easter. I could never get a great pic of them on their own - had to pay a photographer for that. ;P
