Spring break

Andrew and Claire had spring break the first week of April.  Luckily have some great friends and family who did lots of fun things with them.  They spent the first two days with my mom.  If you sit still too long with Grandma Larsen she puts you to work!  So Andrew and Claire did lots of cleaning tasks.  According to my mom they did a great job.  Some how that doesn't translate over when they come home though.  Claire vacuumed and did lots of Windex which is her favorite thing to do.  Andrew helped to clean the bathrooms.  At least he got gloves while cleaning!  Believe or not they like to help clean.

Then they came over to my work and we all went to lunch together.

They were going to go to the Oakland zoo, but were running out of time so they went to Happy Hollow instead.

They had a great time riding the rides.

They went on the roller coaster four times in a row.  They thought it was so much fun!

Andrew loves this ride, but this was Claire's first time.

The next day they worked in the garden with my mom which is something they really like to do.  They pulled weeds and prepared the ground for spring plantings.

Then they went to Palo Alto to have lunch with my dad.  They thought that the whole cafeteria system was great - take all the food you want!  If they had been paying the bill maybe things would have been different.

They got to see grandpa's office as well and meet some of the people he works with.

The next two days were spent at Sara's house.  On Wednesday they were able to go swimming.  It was the first day all season and they loved it.   Thursday it rained, so they stayed in, but they love to hang out with Sara's kids and play.

On Friday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Since it was spring break it was quite crowded, but we hadn't been for a while so it was nice to go again.

The seahorse exhibit it is always so cool.  It is amazing how small of them are and...

how some of them look just like plants!

The jellyfish were really interesting as well.

After the aquarium we had lunch and then went to the park.

Claire was afraid to walk across the bridge at the park by herself, so Danny and Andrew went with her.

It was nice to have spring break and not have homework.  It is hard to believe that we are at the end of the school year already.
