Last Wednesday I took the day off and Natalie and I took the kids to Gilroy Gardens. It was hot, but we wanted to do something fun before school started. The kids had a great time, but it was a bit challenging with only two adults. For example, all of the kids wanted to ride one of the roller coasters but only Andrew was tall enough to ride alone. So I rode three times in a row - first with Claire, then Elaina and finally Chris. I thought that one of them might be scared but they weren't. They all loved it. We started out on the small carousel. I tried to get Grant to ride it, but once again he wouldn't do it.
Next Claire, Elaina and Chris rode a ride that is similar to the Tea Cups at Disneyland. They loved it! No one complained about feeling sick even after all that spinning.
Then they all rode the fishes. I tried Grant on this one but no luck.
Grant rode on the fire trucks of course! He loves fire trucks or as he calls them "whew, whew!! That is his impression of the siren.
Then he drove a race car.
We took a break for lunch and then rode the artichoke dip ride.
They all really liked the boat ride, but they were really hot afterwards so we headed to the water area. They ran around and played in there until almost closing time. They rode a few more rides and then it was time to head home. We were all so thirsty that we had to stop on the way home for some cold water and a snack. It was great to have a day off and spend it with the kids.
