It has been pretty warm here, so we couldn't carve our pumpkins too early otherwise they get a little bit furry. So after church on Sunday it was finally time. Andrew was really excited to get going. He got his own apron out and started cutting the top open. He did the whole top by himself.
Then came time for scooping. This part was harder, but he did most of it.
Claire hasn't mastered the art of carving yet so she watched most of it.
Andrew kept showing me the seeds when I tried to take a picture.
Claire told Danny exactly how she wanted her pumpkin face to look - very traditional - with a triangle eyes and nose and some teeth.
Andrew first drew his pumpkin face on a piece of paper and then transferred it to the pumpkin.
Andrew had some help from Danny when carving the face, but he designed it himself.
The finished product with and without lights.
