Grant was very excited to play T-ball finally. We were able to get him on the same team as his best friend Jayden. Danny wasn't able to coach because he was an assistant coach for Claire's softball team. He helped out when the games didn't overlap. All of the boys were were 4-5 and for most of them this was the first time they had played baseball. This was the first practice where Grant had just hit the ball off of the tee and is running to first base.
Even though he doesn't look excited he was for his first game. His team was the Cubs.
Lots of parent and coach help in the field. Grant was playing third here.
Chatting it up with Jayden before the game.
Running the bases.
Andrew was even able to help out at a couple of the games.
At the beginning of the season, they have all of the kids hit off of the tee. As the season went on, they did coach pitch.
Fielding the ball was far harder for the kids than hitting. Every time it was hit most of them forgot their positions and ran towards the ball. In these three pictures Grant was able to field the ball and throw it to first base.
This picture isn't great quality because it was taken with my phone, but Grant would stand there with both hands up and fingers spread while playing first base.
Eventually Grant was able to hit the ball really well on coach pitch, but I couldn't find the pictures of that. There are no outs at base in T-ball and everyone hits every inning.
It was a long but good season. He really loved having Jayden on the team, although the coaches may not have sometimes. Grant is going to try out soccer in the fall.
