Andrew's 6
th birthday was on May 18
th. He really wanted to have an X-men birthday party. I didn't know that he knew who the X-men were, because I certainly did not. We decided to make it a super
heroes in training party. Danny found some really great ideas on the
Internet for the party. The first thing on the agenda was to make your own mask. Andrew named himself "Super Bolt".

Then we did an obstacle course in the backyard. They had to practice may different skills from climbing on the play structure to driving the toy jeep. The kids really liked this and wanted to do it multiple times. We also played several other games like target practice with water balloons and of course we had a pinata.

My mom made an X-men cake which is a large letter "X" and with Wolverine's hand and large claw going across the top. Andrew thought that this was very cool.

Everyone busy eating cake. They all wanted more, but after the pile of candy they got from the pinata I thought that their mom's would be upset.

Finally it was time for presents. He opened these
nerf swords first which he loved. He had a really great party, but wished that more of the kids from his class had come. He says that he doesn't feel any older now that he is 6. We got him a new bike for his birthday without training wheels. We are still practicing riding it though. He only has 8 more days of Kindergarten which is so hard to believe.

You're such a good mom, I don't even do parties for my kids. I bet the kids had a blast. Missed you guys this weekend.
What a cool party! Awesome job.
You don't know the X-men?? We got to get you those movies. hah hah
Again, your mom makes amazing cakes!
I am with you about Kindergarten being over soon. Maybe we should just hold Jaylin and Andrew back and pretend that they are not growing up! ;P
