Grant's 5th birthday party

Grant wanted a Star Wars party for his 5th birthday.  Danny came up with the idea of doing a Jedi training academy.  Grant invited Jayden, Corbin, Kameron, Kalila, Mason and Calvin.  I made them all very basic Jedi robes from brown bed sheets.  First up was light saber training.  They each had a light saber and tried their best to keep a balloon in the air with the light saber.

Next up, was working on their skills with the force.  This was basically a Star Wars themed pin the tail on the donkey.  The kids were really excited to see who got the logo the closest.

Next, they had to learn how to shoot the bad guys with their powers.  We had hung up pictures of the villains from Star Wars and had them try to shoot them using silly string.  They loved this!  They wanted to do more shooting but we ran out of silly string.

The last activity was destroying the Death Star.  We had filled a bunch of small water balloons that they were going to use to do this.  I did my best to draw a Death Star with chalk.  They may have loved this activity more than the silly string.

We have found that kids are not big cake eaters so we just made cupcakes and placed them in the shape of two dueling light sabers.   We were in a time crunch to get Grant's birthday party planned with the other activities that were happening, so I am glad that it turned out fun for everyone.
