The Power Kick

I was at Ross a few weeks ago and saw a small soccer ball for Andrew. Ours got kicked over the fence and the neighbor has not thrown it back yet. I suppose it could be because it is lost in the tall grass in his backyard, but we haven't exactly ventured over there to ask for it either. When Danny saw the soccer ball he thought it would be the perfect time to get out the soccer goal that Andrew got a while back, but we haven't used yet. Danny taught Andrew the "power kick" which is basically running up to the ball and kicking it instead of kicking it from a standing position. When playing soccer with Andrew we get to trade off being the kicker and the goalie.

This is a non-power kick. Not a lot of force to make it past the goalie (mom or dad).

Perfect kick!

I was taking a picture instead of tending to the goal. The target cheers for you if you hit it and score.

Yeah!!! GOOOOAAAALLLLL! Andrew can't wait to play soccer in the fall. Hopefully the power kick will be perfected by then. Feel free to come over and try to block a power kick - I dare you!

Ali, I got the same goalie for Nicholas. The cheering drives me absolutely crazy. The kids like to just turn it on and let it play over and over!

You've got quite the athlete on your hands. Love and miss that kid!
